Are you undecided between choosing Wool or Synthetic?
Coming from a ‘Woolly’ nation, it seems foreign for many of us to choose a synthetic carpet…We don’t have nylon sheep running around in our paddocks!
To achieve texture, style and design in the carpet world, Wool is still the favourite. Loop pile carpets display very minimal tracking and shading that is a characteristic of cutpile carpets..Take into consideration the style of your home, and how many angles, stairs, different directions the floor may run in when choosing a patterned carpet …sometimes it can tend to look rather busy.
Solution Dyed Nylon Carpets are very popular and are mainly available in a cutpile. Come in to Carpetlink and walk on the different weights available so you can feel and see the difference of what is available on the market…. They are produced from an entry level 22oz, which is good for baches, rumpus rooms, units etc where the foot traffic is limited …. Right up to a 70oz … where your toes sink into the plush fibres of the carpet.

Carpet Color Choice
Color is a key element in choosing your new carpet. It is very important that you are 100% happy with your decision and that you have viewed your choice of carpet in as larger sample as possible.
Colourboards
It is a good idea to do your own colourboard… Get a testpot of paint, fabric from your curtains, a sample of your hardflooring, kitchen benchtops etc… The more sampling you have on it the better overall picture you can see.. This will help you pinpoint any colour issues early so you can review or look at different options..
Bring Samples To Our Showrooms
Carpetlink has very large squares of their favorite carpet ranges installed in their showrooms. When you bring in your sample of tile or wooden planking it is so easy to see what it is going to look like in a bigger picture.. If you are trying to bring a colour out of a pattern in a sofa or curtain bring this in too..
When Viewing Sampling
It is a good idea to take home your best selection of carpet samples. In my opinion it is a good idea to stand 4-5 metres back from your sample….you can see that the sample will lighten up and this will give you a good indication of what your carpet is going to look like once it has been installed in your home.
By putting a white sheet under your sample it will stop the existing carpet colouring being picked up when viewing your sample.. Do try this as you will be amazed by the difference in colour.
Most importantly it is best to try to focus on what the carpet looks like in the main living areas of your home. Unfortunately due to changing light sources throughout your home the carpet will look darker or lighter in different rooms of your home.
